Senior Warden

Greetings, Brothers !

Many good things are happening at Brandon #114.  Now, it is time to restore the physical beauty of our Lodge.  We have scheduled our first clean-up day for the last day of this month and we need your help.  In fact, we need the help of your Ladies, the help of the Sisters of the Eastern Star and the help of the Rainbow Girls.  We all share the use of this Lodge and we share in the pride of what is becoming the showplace Masonic Lodge and it stands to reason that we should all help spruce it up.  In fact, we had a recent conversation with an OES Sister who commented that an area of the Lodge needed dusting . . . and then she said, “I guess I could do it myself, couldn’t I?”  That’s the spirit!  We all contribute to the need for maintenance and we can all contribute to the maintenance itself.  Our paid cleaning worker cannot do it all but performs admirably in the tasks for which she was hired. 

If any Brother or Sister would like to initiate a specific project such as remodeling the bathrooms, please contact your Senior Warden and we will form our own task force to see the job completed.  Perhaps the OES and/or Rainbow Girls could initiate a specific Lodge improvement project on their own, maybe making this an annual event.

We have asked a well-qualified and dedicated Past Master to assume the role of Facilities Manager, so various maintenance projects could continue from year to year.  The Facilities Manager would not perform labor but direct us to the tasks that need attention on a continuing basis.  This PM has not yet accepted the job but we hope he does.  Thus far, Lodge upkeep has been hit or miss, the responsibility changing from year to year and a Facilities Manager would provide continuity to the upkeep and assure that Brandon Lodge always shines.  However, we can all do our part by picking up, wiping and dusting when we see the need, many hands making the load light.
